Support & Services
We, as well as our partners offer regular workshops & webinars, make sure to sign up to our newsletter here, and check out the available recordings for EEG (link BP webinar channel) and fNIRS (link NIRX youtube) here. For a customized training solution for your lab please contact us directly.
Should you be interested in a demo please feel free to contact us we will make sure to reach out and find the best demo solution together with you (remote, loan, in- person).
Depending on your level of experience you may find that our solutions are very user-friendly and plug-and-play. Should you require an installation we provide those remote or in your lab. In some cases, e.g. EEG/fMRI solutions we are required to come for an in-house training.
If your lab has experienced a long downtime or key expertise has been lost due to personnel changes, we are happy to provide a refresher session. Please contact us here.
We usually do not offer rental options, however, we also understand that not every budget will allow for a full system in the lab. If you get in contact with us, we will make sure to find a solution that fits your needs.
Product Use & Operation
Setup time varies depending on the modality, sensor type and channel count, and operator experience.
- Beginners should plan approximately 20–45 minutes for participant preparation and signal optimization.
- Experienced users can often complete setup in 10–20 minutes, especially with streamlined protocols and familiarity with the equipment.
- Additional time may be required for participants with thick hair, complex montages, or studies involving multiple modalities.
There is generally no strict limit on how often or long measurements can be performed, provided the equipment is maintained and signal quality is monitored throughout the day.
- Experienced users can often run multiple sessions per day with minimal downtime between participants.
- New users should allow additional time for preparation, troubleshooting, and quality checks.
- A quiet, comfortable space helps participants remain relaxed and minimizes movement artifacts.
- Stable lighting and temperature are recommended, especially for longer recordings.
- For EEG, reducing electrical interference from nearby devices and ensuring proper grounding as well as good impedance can improve signal quality.
- For fNIRS, avoiding strong ambient sunlight or direct infrared sources is necessary.

Please check our electrode overview.
First you may inspect the electrodes visually. After that a salt water test as described here may be helpful. Additional testing may be necessary according to this support tip.
Consumables & Costs
- This depends on your type of electrodes (active vs. passive, vs. R-Net) and the amount of channels. For a standard 64 active electrode set up we would calculate:
- 5 kg of gel, 200 syringes (using 2 people to prepare), 200 blunt needles.
Logistics & Delivery
Before sending in your device, please contact us at mailto:office@mes.gmbh, we will provide you with either an RMA Number (Return Material Authorization) right away or will suggest further testing to establish which components will be needed to send in.
